RUBY RED PRECIOUS STONE trilogy reading information

It's not often that YA Lit from elsewhere in the world arrives in the US and becomes so popular.  But Kerstin Gier's series about time-traveling has done just that.

Known both as the RUBY RED TRILOGY and the PRECIOUS STONE SERIES, these 3 novels, translated by Anthea Bell, have earned raves from Middle-graders, Young Adults and Adults.

Charlotte was the one who was supposed to time travel. Beautiful Charlotte and not Gwyneth, her cousin.

But somehow things aren't what they seem and Gwyneth's mother apparently lied about her birth date, and now it's  Gwyneth who must accompany a rather irritating boy named Gideon to the past because she's the "Ruby", the one who is going to take her place as one of the time-traveling Circle of Twelve.

So she brushes up on her history so she'll be prepared for what's ahead. (And why didn't anyone tell her about the ghosts?)

Now she's in the thick of it.  Gwyneth is traveling through time looking for  other time-travelers so she can politely ask for a bit of their blood.

And, of course, she’s still trying to figure out what all the mysteries and prophecies surrounding the Circle really mean.

It looks very bad.  Not only does it appear to Gwyneth that Gideon has been using her all along, but she suspects the founder of the Circle, Count Saint-German, is up to something nefarious, but nobody will believe her.
