LEBRON JAMES books - 1st Grade Reading Level (Hi/Lo books included)

LeBron James is a sports phenom and these books might get your hesitant kids reading.

I found 3 books at the First Grade reading level.  One is for younger readers who are working at the 1st Grade level. The remaining 2 are Hi/Low readers.  That is, they are for older readers (4th-8th Grade) that are reading at this level.  The fantastic topic might hook them on reading!

**There are no books at the Kindergarten level, nor the Second Grade reading level.

Graphic Novel series.

Despite being hugely popular, and despite (and perhaps because of) it's being turned into a television series, Nightmare on Joe's Street is difficult to locate. We suggest your local library, or the 'Used' section of Amazon or one of the other book vendors.

excerpt from Nightmare on Joe's Street (Time Warp Trio) by Jon Scieszka
Description: The Time Warp guys come face-to-face with Frankenstein’s monster and he's in the wrong era. He needs to get back to Mary Shelley and the 19th Century.

Hi-Lo Books At the 1st Grade Level

In 2009, the ALSC (Association for Library Services) School-Age Programs and Services Committee sat down and conjured up a list of books they thought were excellent choices for reluctant readers in the 9 to 14 year-old range. They put the list out in a PDF with the books listed alphabetically. They did not however include the reading level information for these books, and this we have done.

Here is the only book at the First Grade level.

Graphic Novel.

Mona and Joey loooove the Might Mojo, their favorite superhero, so much so that the hero passes on his superhero costume. A fight for possession follows and the super suit gets ripped in half, leaving each of them with only half of the power. Can the twins now learn to work together to fight Saw-Jaw?
