I found this little mystery series and was excited because it got pretty good reviews and it was at a simple level.
It is written by David Adler, who many of you will recognize as the author of the popular
CAM JANSEN series.
These latter books are at the 3rd Grade reading level. This series of
simple chapter books is more basic and at the 2nd Grade level.
One
thing I liked about the series, besides that it introduces young
children to the delights of a mystery read, is that David outlines his
characters thinking, demonstrating both deductive and inductive logic.
And the fact that it features a dog, doesn't hurt either.
